The New York Times’ list of the 100 Most Outstanding Novels of the Year includes 4 works by Indian authors. Deepa Anappara, a native of Palakkad and a journalist in the UK, has been shortlisted for her first novel ‘Gin Patrol on the Purple Line’.

London-based journalist Samantha Subramaniam’s textbook ‘A Dominant Character Radical Science and Restless Politics of JBS Haldane’, Megha Majumdar, a New Yo4k resident’s first novel, ‘A Burning’, the novel ‘Red Pill’ by Indian-born British novelist Hari Kunsru are also on the list.
