Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe Launched In India

Mercedes-Benz India has added a new AMG to its portfolio with the launch of the GLE 63 S AMG 4MATIC+ Coupe SUV. The new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ is the top-spec version in the GLE family and is priced at ₹ 2.07 crore (Ex-showroom, India). It packs a more powerful V8 under its bonnet along with a host of other upgrades. The new offering joins the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ that was launched in India last year and is also substantially more expensive. This is the 12th AMG model to go on sale in the country. The new GLE 63 S AMG takes on the Audi RS Q8, Maserati Levante, Lamborghini Urus, and the likes in the segment.

The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ draws power from the 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine that develops 603 bhp at 6500 rpm and 850 Nm of peak torque available between 2500-4500 rpm. The motor is paired with the 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission. The SUV can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 280 kmph. As far as the Mercedes-Benz India AMG portfolio goes, this is the brand’s fastest coupe SUV. The model also comes with seven driving modes. The GLE 63 S AMG is the first offering with a V8 motor to get the EQ Boost Hybrid system which is essentially a 48-volt unit. This offers an additional 21 bhp and 250 Nm, and improves acceleration and reduce turbo lag at the lower end of the power rev counter.

Visually, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe gets the Panamericana grille, twin LED DRLs, big haunches for the rear wheels, AMG twin tailpipe exhaust, and more. The model also rides on larger 22-inch light-alloy wheels. Inside, the GLE 63 AMG Coupe gets Nappa leather seats, sports AMG steering wheel, carbon fibre inserts and more. The model gets the dual-screen set up that runs the MBUX infotainment system with AMG specific functions, while the steering wheel gets dedicated controls to adjust the ride height, dampers, exhaust sound and more.

The AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe is loaded on the safety front and gets multiple airbags, Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist, 3-stage ESP, 4ETS dynamic handling control system and AMG electronic rear-axle limited-slip differential. It also gets Active Ride Control with Active Roll Stabilisation and AMG cylinder management.

Mercedes-Benz India is offering service packages from two to 10 years for AMGs with prices starting at ₹ 96,700 for two years for the Compact package, while the Compact Plus package is priced at ₹ 4,96 lakh for 3 years/30,000 km.
