The motorcycle giant, Harley-Davidson Inc is expected to enter in a distribution deal with Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer by sales. The distribution agreement with Hero MotoCorp will be a way to sell Harley-Davidson motorcycles, as the Milwaukee-based company announced its exit from India on Thursday.
Harley-Davidson shut its manufacturing plant in India as part of a global restructuring process. On the year ending March 2020, Harley manufactured just 4,500 motorcycles showing the unsuccessful efforts to gain progress in India, the world’s biggest motorcycle market.
After abandoning the manufacturing in India, Harley-Davidson Inc is in talks with
Hero MotoCorp about a distribution deal in which Hero will function as a contract manufacturer for Harley motorcycle with 300-600 cc engine capacity.
