Farmers’ organisations call for ‘Bharat Bandh’ tomorrow

Farmers’ organisations from Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu have extended their support to opposition parties in the protest against the farm Bills passed by Parliament and called for Bharat Bandh tomorrow.

More than two dozen farmer organisations such as All India Farmers Union (AIFU), Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), All India Kisan Mahasangh (AIKM), and All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) will be the part of a nationwide shutdown tomorrow.

On Wednesday 18 political parties met President Ram Nath Kovind with a plea not to give assent to these Bills and return them for reconsideration of the House. Ten Central trade unions, including All India Trade Union Congress, National Trades Union Congress, Centre of Indian Trade Unions will also come out in support of the Bharat Bandh tomorrow.
