According to a new study the virus that causes COVID-19 can remain for days on various surfaces. After the research of few months, James Lloyd Smith, Professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at University of California published a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine.
The study claims that Corona Virus can stay for 3 days on plastic and stainless steel, 24 hours on cardboard and four hours on copper. The virus can easily spread through the air or touching contaminated objects.
It is highly risky to control the spread as it is difficult to detect the pandemic because of the lack of visible symptoms for days after the exposure. Careful precautions are necessary to avoid a second wave of COVID-19 before spreading around the world.
