New Delhi: Congress election authority has started process of electing a new party chief likely to be completed by January. A second round meeting was held on Thursday at the AICC headquarters under the chairmanship of Madhusudan Mistry.

The process was under discussion as the letter written by 23 leaders in the party was released in August, demanding the top to the bottom change in administrative level in the organization.

It is expected to see a big turn of events within the party in the coming months with Rahul Gandhi’s opinion that there should be a non-Gandhi party president this time after  his shocking resignation from the post of party president accepting moral responsibility for the poor performance of the party in the 2019 general elections.
