New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released a list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly bypolls in Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. The party named 28 candidates for Madhya Pradesh and one candidate for Telangana for the bypolls that will take place on November 3.
On September 29, the Election commission of India announced dates for 56 assembly Byelections across the country. It includes 28 from Madhya Pradesh, eight from Gujarat, seven from Uttar Pradesh, two each from Jharkhand, Nagaland, Karnataka, Manipur, Nagaland, and Odisha and one from Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Haryana.
Among 28 seats in Madhya Pradesh, three seats were vacant due to death of the MLAs and the remaining 25 due to resignation of the then Congress MLAs. In Telangana, M Raghunandan Rao was announced as BJP’s candidate for the Dubbaka bypoll.
The deadline for filing the nomination papers is October 16 and the results will be declared on November 10.
