Patna: According to a report released by the Association of Democratic Reforms, 328 candidates contesting in Bihar Assembly elections are charged with serious criminal offenses. After examining the affidavits of 1,064 candidates, 224 were found as charged with serious offences likr rape, murder, kidnapping and sexual assault.
Tejaswi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has topped the list of candidates with criminal backgrounds with 30 out of 41 candidates of them. BJP holds the second position with 21 out of 29 total BJP candidates found to have criminal background.
The report also revealed that 375 candidates out of 1,064 are millionaires.
