Ayushmann Khurrana, a versatile and beautifully unconventional actor has achieved a place in the prestigious Time’s 100 most influential people list. Among the only three global actors featured in the TIME list, he is the only Indian actor to be included in the coveted list this year.
The actor shared the news through Instagram in which he wrote, “TIME’s list of the 100 Most Influential People in the world is out, I’m honored to be a part of this group: time.com/time100 @TIME #TIME100 (sic).”
Apart from Ayushmann, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, London based Indian origin doctor Ravindra Gupta, who found a cure for AIDS and Bilkis – Dadi of Shaheen Bagh are the other Indians made it to the coveted list. Ayushmann is the youngest Indian to be featured in this year’s TIME Magazine.
Deepika Padukone penned a heartfelt note for the actor in the TIME magazine in which she praised Ayushmann for playing male protagonist roles without falling into the trap of stereotypical masculinity.
Deepika wrote, “In India, with a population of more than 1.3 billion, only a tiny percentage of people see their dreams come alive, and Ayushmann Khurrana is one of them. You’re probably wondering, How? Talent and hard work.”
Celebrities like Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Angad Bedi, Rapper Badshah, Mrunal Thakur, Aparshakti Khurana and Neena Gupta praised the actor on social media.
