A Malayalee becomes New Zealand’s first Indian minister

Wellington: A Malayalee has became the first Indian minister in the New Zealand government. Priyanka Radhakrishnan, a Labor party MP is a native of Paravur, Ernakulam.

Priyanka Radhakrishnan was the personal secretary of Jenny Salesa, a former cabinet minister and now given charge of social development, youth welfare, volunteer sector and Minister of Labor. She is the daughter of Paravur Madavanapparambu Raman Radhakrishnan and Usha couple from Ernakulam district and has been a Labor Party activist for 14 years.
