Triumph Motorcycles has launched the all-new 2021 Triumph Bonneville Bobber in India at ₹ 11,75,000 (Ex-showroom). The new Bobber features an updated 1,200 cc engine which meets the latest BS6 (Euro 5) emission regulations, and features a new blacked-out look, like that of the previous generation Bobber Black, with the engine said to offer more responsive and thrilling performance than before. The output of the engine remains more or less the same, but it’s said to be more responsive, with a fuller and smoother torque curve.

Speaking on the launch, Shoeb Farooq, Business Head – Triumph Motorcycles India said, “The Triumph Bobber has always had a demand among Indian customers and due to this we decided to bring the Bobber back after a gap of 1 year. The 2021 Bobber features new updates, with the blacked out finishing giving the motorcycle a more stunning appeal. I’m sure the Bobber will make it to the garages of enthusiasts who have an eye for beautiful motorcycles with engaging performance. With the launch of the Bobber, our Modern Classic line-up now has an overall of 9 motorcycles including 3 special editions which, by far is the largest modern classic portfolio offered by a premium manufacturer in the country offering motorcycles from 900ccc upto a 1200cc platform.”

The new Bonneville Bobber is powered by Triumph’s latest generation Bonneville 1,200 cc high-torque, parallel-twin engine. With a reduction in inertia, the updated 2021 engine is said to be more responsive. According to Triumph, the 270-degree firing interval delivers a notable lift at 5,500 rpm, while peak torque remains the same as the older generation model, with 106 Nm at 4,000 rpm, while maximum power is 77 bhp at 6,100 rpm, just a minor 1 bhp bump over the outgoing model.

The updated Euro 5/BS6 engine gives lower emissions than the previous generation model, and is also said to deliver better fuel economy. Riding distance is also enhanced by the new, larger, 12 litre fuel tank which is said to provide up to 33% more range. Triumph’s sophisticated ride-by-wire system offers two enhanced riding modes – ‘Road’ and ‘Rain’. These adjust both the throttle response and traction control settings.

The 2021 Bonneville Bobber now features a blacked-out styling, with new black engine covers, cam cover and sprocket cover, giving the Bobber a new meaner, moodier edge. The 2021 Bobber comes with beautiful details – minimal steel fenders with a central ridge and return edge, wide flat bars with broad adjustable levers, sculpted top yoke, and rubber gaiters on the 47 mm front forks. Braking duties are handled by Brembo two-piston calipers and twin discs, for better and controlled stopping power, while on the rear is a single disc set up. The dual-channel ABS is standard, as is the switchable traction control system.

The 2021 Bonneville Bobber features a 16-inch fat front wheel and new chunkier 47 mm front forks, giving a muscular and imposing front end presence. Both wheels have classic wire-spoked design, with black rims, and are shod with Avon Cobra tyres which have been specifically designed for the Bobber, with a lightweight construction. The black painted bar-end mirrors, classic rear ‘drum brake’ inspired hub, side-mounted ignition barrel, LED bullet indicators and new, signature full LED headlight, with a LED daytime running light.

On the 2021 model, the single-pod instrument console features a new bezel, including a metallic embellisher with subtle Bonneville branding. The dial face is new, with more integrated warning lights, and the multi-function display is controlled by an easily accessible handlebar mounted scroll button. Slash-cut, sawn-off peashooter silencers complete the picture and deliver a rich and raw Bobber sound. A very high service interval of 16,000 kilometres helps to keep the ongoing cost of ownership low.

The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Bobber is available with a range of 77 genuine Triumph accessories, including an alternative high bar set-up, luggage and choice of seating options, with adjustable seating and footpeg position. The new Bonneville Bobber is available in a choice of three distinctive colour options, with a new Matt Storm grey and Matt Ironstone scheme, a new Cordovan Red scheme, and a Classic Black option.
